About us

On June 25, 2008, the Boards of Directors of Souderton Mennonite Homes and Dock Woods Community announced plans to affiliate the two organizations under one parent company, with a common Board of Directors and leadership team. This affiliation became final on November 24, 2008, and Living Branches was introduced.

Living Branches is a not-for-profit system of retirement living communities dedicated to providing quality, life-enriching services on three campuses in southeastern Pennsylvania. Souderton Mennonite Homes and Dock Woods offer independent living, personal care and nursing care services, as well as services for residents with memory impairment. Dock Meadows provides personal care services, and residents have access to nursing care withing the Living Branches system. Through Dock Manor and Dock Village in Towamencin Township, Living Branches also offers affordable housing for older adults and families who qualify for rental assistance.

The communities of Living Branches welcome people of all backgrounds and walks of life. Affiliated with the Franconia Mennonite Conference of Mennonite Church USA, our communities offer excellence in care and service, guided by the Mennonite heritage of Christian values.

The name Living Branches is derived from John 15:5, where Jesus teaches his disciples that he is the vine and, as branches, they will draw their strength and sense of mission from him. Our communities are living, vibrant places where older adults enjoy fitness and wellness opportunities pursue lifelong learning, and offer mutual kinship and support to friends old and new.
