Will we continue to interact with the same staff?
One of the key advantages to the affiliation is employee development. Together, we can provide more opportunities for employees to grow in their respective roles. This could mean that, over time, some staff may work on different campuses. However, both communities are committed to employing great people who desire to enhance the lives of our residents.

Can residents of one community access the healthcare facilities of the other community?
In the past year, Dock Woods has been able to serve residents of Souderton Mennonite Homes in the nursing center, as they had availability and when the needs of all Dock Woods residents were satisfied. Moving forward, it is likely that residents of the respective communities would continue to have priority access to the nursing facility on their campus; however, as we have availability, we would likely be able to accommodate residents from one campus in the nursing facility of the other campus.

Will rate structures change?
Rate structures at each community are set based on the current and anticipated needs of that community (and the various facilities within the community). This will not change. Therefore, there will continue to be differences in the rates across the campuses, just as there are differences in the rates within each community. The rates will be what they need to be to ensure our ability to serve residents both now and into the future.

Will the affiliation impact the activities programs of both communities?
While the specifics will be worked out after the affiliation, we would hope that together we could enhance the activities that are available to residents of both communities.

Will future residents be able to choose where they go?
Absolutely. Future residents will continue to be able to choose which community—and which area of the community—they would like to call home. Once future residents have determined where they would like to live, the application process for each community will be followed.

Are there amenities/facilities at either community that residents of the other community may enjoy?
There is a possibility that certain amenities of one community may be opened up to residents of the other community over time. Details will be worked out following the affiliation.

Will there be opportunities for residents of one community to tour and visit with residents of the other community?
Following the affiliation, there will be a number of ways for residents of one community to get to know the residents and facilities of the other community. Details will be worked out following the affiliation.
