Frequently Asked Questions - Employees

Will there be a consolidation of functions/departments?
In all areas, we hope to learn from each other. The new leadership team will determine whether any functions will actually be combined after the affiliation.

=
Will we share employees?
There are a number of possibilities with regard to coverage across both communities. Cross training employees in certain functions to work at both communities will be a topic of discussion for the leadership team of the new parent company after the affiliation is complete.
=
How will the affiliation impact us in our daily work?
It will really depend on your function/department within the organization. For most employees, daily work will change very little. One thing is for certain: our primary goal of enhancing the lives of our residents will not change.
=
Will policies and procedures be consistent across facilities?
One of the many benefits of the affiliation is to learn from each other. Over time, it will likely make sense for us to standardize some policies and procedures. This is an area the leadership team will work at over time.
=
Will the nursing departments merge?
In the area of nursing, there are many benefits we expect to experience as a result of the affiliation. With regard to staffing, which is a challenge across the industry, over time we may be able cross train employees and grow a joint pool staff. These are just a couple of the many ideas already expressed by nursing staff. The leadership team, along with nursing leadership, will be evaluating these and other options following the affiliation.
=

Will there be opportunities for staff of the respective communities to get to know each other?
Absolutely. We will be providing opportunities for staff to get to know each other, and to become familiar with each other’s campuses, following the affiliation.

=
Will our benefits change?
This will be a topic of consideration for the leadership team, in consultation with human resources leadership of both communities, following the affiliation.
=
Does the parent company give us more power to get better health insurance or benefits?
We are not sure if our combined size will give us significantly better purchasing power when it comes to benefits; however, we will work to leverage our size to ensure that our benefits are as competitive as possible.
